Symphony Teaching School

Having already worked with one school in the Symphony Learning Trust we were called into work on two specific projects with them. This one was a website for the DfE accredited Teaching School that is run from Newcroft Primary Academy, in Shepshed, Leicestershire.

The teaching school offers resources, products and events to other schools - to allow best practice to propogate throughout education in the region. It also offers graduates and would-be teachers a route in to teaching.

The website includes a product and event management system. We discussed with the school several options and settled on a non ecommerce model - in terms of no electronic payment would be taken - as most schools and LAs would not be using credit cards for online payment. So it was easier to implement the system as a reservation system - with payment and invoices being handled offline by other school systems. The website system gives an export function of orders and details.
