Birmingham-based pathology lab Midland Pathology Services contacted us to deliver a complete overhaul to its online presence.

First a new public website was delivered that showcased the services and tests that the laboratory offer to their clients. This new website was a big hit with clients – and won new clients for the lab almost immediately.

To help improve services to client we worked with the team at Midland Pathology to develop a brand new online results portal, allowing clients to log in securely and review the results of the samples they sent in.

Security was obviously a paramount concern during this development – and at every stage best coding practices and information management techniques were adhered to. Not only is all communication between browser and server encrypted with an SSL certificate – we’ve also delivered an Extended Validation certificate – which helps to reassure browsers that the page really is being delivered by the company you see on screen.

The results upload process is very straightforward – and takes a feed from the laboratory’s own lab systems.

•     Easy searching of results by patient name and other information
•     Viewing of test profiles (groups of tests)
•     Detailed information on tests, turn around times, sample types
•     Downloading personalized sample request forms (including personalized PDFs)
•     Ordering new test kits
