All of our website 'work' on a mobile phone - but if the website isn't a 'responsive' website - those mobile visitors may not be getting the best experience. At best they will be getting frustrated by having to constantly pinch and zoom there way around your navigation and content.
At worst, they may not even be able to find your website as Google won't rank your website as well in mobile searches if it isn't mobile-friendly.
The graph below shows how website viewing trends have changed over the last 5 years. This is for a typical business to consumer website. You can see that Desktop viewing of the website has plummeted from 75% down to just 22%. Whereas mobile viewing (excluding tablets) has increased from just 8% in 2013 up to a significant 50% in 2017.
Each website will have different stats - and you should absolutely check your own Google Analytics data to see how many mobile visitors your website attracts - and just as importantly - how long those visitors spend on your website.
